When was Pecan Plantation established?
Real Estate development began in Pecan Plantation in the mid 1970's with the construction of the PP Clubhouse and golf course as well as other amenities including the airstrip, marina & stables.

Who owns Pecan Plantation?
Pecan Plantation has been owned by the same family for more than fifty years. All undeveloped property is owned by the James Anthony Family of Fort Worth, TX. They have, and continue to be the driving force behind real estate and golf course development, as well as the management of 1,600 acres of pecan orchard still in production on the peninsula.

How big is Pecan Plantation?
Pecan Plantation represents the entire 4000 plus acres that is encircled by 17 miles of the Brazos River just below Lake Granbury.

Do you have to belong to Pecan Plantation Country Club?
Yes. Membership in PPOA is mandatory with the purchase of property in Pecan Plantation and includes full use of Pecan Plantation Country Club amenities. Your membership entitles you and your immediate family to unlimited golf (green fees only), tennis, swimming, parks, boat launch and airport use.

What are the monthly dues?
Dues currently total $141.50 monthly. This includes full use of all the amenities, green fees, road maintenance and weekly trash pick up. The Nutcracker Golf Club is not included in these fees.

Are there different levels of membership?
All property owners enjoy the same membership classification in PPOA.

What is the Nutcracker Golf Club?
The Nutcracker Golf Club is an additional private 18 Hole Championship Course built and managed by the developer. It is intended to offer a golf alternative for the serious golfer at an additional fee. You do not automatically receive a membership to NGC with the purchase of a lot.

Do you have to be a property owner to be a member of the Nutcracker Golf Club?
No. While a vast majority of Nutcracker members are Pecan members, property ownership is currently not a requirement.

Are there different types of memberships at the Nutcracker Golf Club?
The goal of the Nutcracker has always been to serve the needs of its members in ways perhaps Pecan couldn't. There are levels of memberships to fit the needs of any family. Whether it be a social, fitness or a full golf and fitness membership, the Nutcracker Golf Club will work with you to customize a program that meets the needs of your family.

Can you have your own golf cart?
Yes. Annual trail fees apply at both courses.

How many homes are in Pecan Plantation?
Approximately 2,500.

How many people live in Pecan Plantation?
Approximately 5,600, about 650 of which are school age.

Can you use any builder you wish?
Yes. Property owners are allowed to select any builder they wish provided the builder agrees to abide by the rules and regulations established by the PPOA.

Can you build your own home?
Yes. You can contract and/or build your own home subject to the deed restrictions and all rules and regulations established by the PPOA.

What is the minimum square footage you can build?
It depends on the location/phase of development and in some cases the size of your lot.

Who provides utilities?
Water & Sewer- Acton Municipal Utility District (AMUD).
Some areas in Pecan Plantation require septic systems.

Is natural gas available?
No. Propane tanks are allowed if it meets the restrictions established by the PPOA.

Who provides police and fire services?
Pecan Plantation security is responsible for public safety compliance along with the Hood County Sheriff's Department. Fire and emergency medical services are provided by the PP Volunteer Fire Department.

What School District serves Pecan Plantation?
Granbury ISD. K-6 grade is one mile outside the back gate. Middle and High School students go into Granbury.

What colleges are nearby?
Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (38 miles); Tarleton State University, Stephenville (35 miles); Weatherford College (30 miles); Tarrant County College (40 miles).
